New names have appeared on the map of Uralsk. 53 streets in new city districts previously denoted by numbers have been renamed.
Representatives of local intellectual community have chosen the names of the most significant and outstanding historic personalities — batyrs (warriors, scientists, politicians). The streets named after Kanysh Satpaev, Zhusupbek Aymautov, Nauryzbay batyr, and many others are now on the map of Uralsk.

— According to the Regional Onomastic Commission, around 550 proposals were submitted. All of them were taken into account.
