Kazakh Research Institute of Culture celebrates its 80th anniversary

On November 18, 2014 the Eurasian National University will host the opening ceremony of international scientific and practical conference

The conference "Challenges related to study the intangible cultural heritage of nations in Kazakhstan and Central Asia: toponymy, epigraphy and art" was organized by the Kazakh Research Institute of Culture. It was conducted within the frameworks of the research project "Applied Scientific Research of Nomadic History, Archaeology, Ethnography, Culture and Art" with support from the Ministry of Culture and Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan and L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.

This conference is a significant event in the history of national humanitarian sciences as it was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of one of the leading governmental agencies in charge of science and culture — the Kazakh Research Institute of Culture under the Ministry of Culture and Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The following outstanding figures of Kazakh nation worked for this institute in different periods: Sarsen Amanzholov, Akhmet Baytursynov, Sanzhar Asfendiyarov, Saken Seyfullin, Mukhtar Auezov, Kudaybergen Zhubanov, and to name but a few.

Such prominent scientists from Kazakhstan as I. V. Erofeeva, A. E. Rogozhinskiy, M. K. Sembi and many others will present their reports at the conference. Leading foreign experts on art, archaeology, and history also will participate in the conference to introduce their scientific point of view.

Within the frameworks of the even a wide range of questions related to burning issues of Kazakhstani science, their resolution as well as development of scientific and research potential of the country in the sphere of history, archaeology, and culture will be discussed.

According to the press service of the Eurasian National University, the conference will took place on November 18-19, 2014. It will be held as mono-sessions.

The first day of the international scientific and practical conference (November 18) will be devoted to the plenary session "Historical toponymy of Kazakhstan as an element of cultural heritage of nomads". Then the session "Toponymy of Kazakhstan" will start its work.

On the second day of the conference (November 19), the session "Epigraphy and Art of Kazakhstan’s and Central Asian Nomads" will be started. In addition the round table "Perspective Areas of Study the Art of Nomadic Nations of Kazakhstan and Central Asia" will be held at the conclusion of the conference.
